The Ocean Resort, formerly known as the Revel Casino Hotel, is a luxury hotel and casino located in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The property reopened under new management in June 2018 after undergoing significant renovations to its design and amenities.
History of the Property
The original Revel Casino opened on April 2, 2012, with the goal of becoming a premier gaming destination in Atlantic City. However, it struggled financially due to high operating costs and stiff competition from other casinos in the area. The property filed for bankruptcy twice before finally closing its doors in September 2014.
In 2015, casinoocean.ca the new ownership group of Glenn Straub’s Revel Entertainment Group announced plans to reopen the casino as Ocean Resort. After extensive renovations and rebranding efforts, the property reopened on June 28, 2018, offering a more luxurious experience for guests than its predecessor.
Physical Description
The Ocean Resort spans an impressive 6 acres along Atlantic City Boardwalk’s northern end, with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean to one side. Its imposing architecture boasts over 2 million square feet of indoor and outdoor space, featuring gleaming glass façades, modern artwork installations, and sleek lines.
Upon entering the property, guests are immediately struck by its cavernous entrance lobby, adorned with intricate marble details and large chandeliers that illuminate a sprawling reception area. From there, various sections lead off in different directions: the spacious main casino floor is adjacent to several high-end restaurants; above this lies an expansive private hotel tower called the ‘Tower Suite’; while further up still, the 57-story skyscraper features more premium suites offering unmatched oceanfront views.
